Nunnery Wood student Alfie to water-ski for Great Britain in Water-ski World Championships
BackYEAR 10 Nunnery Wood High School student, Alfie Godfrey-Fletcher, Britain’s U14s water skiing champion for 2021 has been selected to represent Great Britain.
Alfie will be competing at the European Championships from August 2-7 in Ioannina Canal – the Hellenic Water-ski Federation and the Pamvotis Water-ski Club EA Youth Official Training Programme.
He will then be competing at the World Championships which will be held in Chili in January 2023.
Alfie first started water skiing four years ago when he was encouraged by his grandad (who was also a keen water skier).
Alfie said: “It’s exciting and I feel as though it’s a great achievement. I have a few nerves too as it is a big responsibility, but nerves are also good for performance.”
Alfie’s dad, Mark Fletcher, added: “It was absolutely fantastic news for Alfie and his family that he has been selected to represent Great Britain. We are all over the moon.”
